NBTY takes home two Golden Bridge Awards

9/16/2014

RONKONKOMA, N.Y. — NBTY on Monday announced that the supplement manufacturer had received two Gold level national awards at a ceremony hosted by the Golden Bridge Awards. NBTY took home the gold award for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year and Employee Communications Campaign of the Year.

NBTY’s award for Corporate Social Responsibility Program of the Year was in acknowledgment of more than $7 million in donations of vitamins and supplements from brands such as Nature’s Bounty and Sundown Naturals, nutrition bars on behalf of brands like MET-Rx and Pure Protein, and monetary contributions from NBTY’s charitable organization, NBTY Helping Hands. Donations went to more than 30 charitable organizations both within and outside the U.S.

The Gold Award for Employee Communications Campaign of the Year was for the company’s Global Walk to Wellness, a virtual “walk around the world. Involving thousands of its global Associates, the goal of the campaign was to, as one team, collectively walk enough steps to circle the world, going office to office, and encourage camaraderie and fitness. In total, almost 3,000 team members collectively covered 136,241 miles.

“Our Associates play such a large and important role in our company initiatives, from our global corporate giving to our team-focused activities that build culture,” stated Karla Packer, SVP Human Resources. “Being awarded two gold-level awards for actions that both positively impact our corporate culture and improve the health and wellness of others is an honor and a validation of our wellness mission.”

The annual Golden Bridge Awards program encompasses the world’s best in organizational performance, innovations, products and services, executives and management teams, women in business and the professions, innovations, case studies, product management, public relations and marketing campaigns, and customer satisfaction programs from every major industry in the world. More than 40 judges from a broad spectrum of industry voices from around the world participated and their average scores determined the 2014 Golden Bridge Business Awards winners.
