A new era: Walmart’s e-commerce management shakeup


Walmart’s $3.3 billion purchase of e-commerce startup has spurred a shakeup across the retail giant’s digital operations.


Exiting the chain are Fernando Madeira, president and CEO of, and Dianne Mills, senior VP of global e-commerce human resources. (As previously announced, Neil Ashe, president and CEO of global e-commerce, is also leaving). 


Brent Beabout, who served as senior VP of e-commerce supply chain for Walmart, has already left. He has been replaced by co-founder Nate Faust, who will lead fulfillment operations for and


The executive departures are seen as the first wave of what is expected to be a major revamp of Walmart’s online operations under the leadership of founder Mark Lore, now president and CEO of e-commerce at Walmart. In fact, changes are already afoot. The first will be the integration of Jet’s signature “smart basket” dynamic pricing system, a move that will help gain footing against Amazon, CNBC reported.
