11/10/2008

NAPERVILLE, Ill. OfficeMax and Safeway announced today a partnership to start distributing office products and school supplies at about 1,600 Safeway grocery stores in the Western United States and Midwest.

Starting in June, Safeway has begun stocking 300 OfficeMax items in a co-branded aisle. Items stocked include school and office supplies as well as seasonal and promotional products.

“OfficeMax continually seeks innovative channels that will bring our products to customers when they need it most,” Ryan Vero, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer for OfficeMax said. “Our goal is to help our customers do their best work and Safeway’s expansive store presence creates a convenient access point for customers looking to replenish their favorite office and school supplies as they shop for groceries and other necessities.”

OfficeMax products will be stocked at many of Safeway’s grocery storefronts, including Carrs, Pak n’ Save Food, Pavilions, Randalls and Vons stores, the company said.
