Online retailer touts 'Made in USA'

PHOENIX — Amid a growing interest nationwide in buying domestically made goods, a new online retailer makes "Made in USA" it's primary selling point.

Shop & Buy American Made brings together products from U.S. manufacturers, artisans and small businesses, ranging from home decor to clothing and accessories.

"I strongly believe that it's more important than ever in these economic times to buy products that support American jobs and grow American businesses," founder Bree Peterson said. "Unfortunately, it can be a very time-consuming effort to do so, and it's nearly impossible to find American-made products at most stores. We launched with the vision of creating a consolidated marketplace for outfitting your family and home with products that are made in the USA or assembled to a significant degree by American workers."

Recent studies back up Peterson's view. According to a study conducted last summer by Perception Research Services, 3-in-4 Americans indicated they were more likely to buy American goods because it "helps the economy."
