Brian Cornell has stepped down as Sam’s Club president and CEO, and has been replaced by Rosalind Brewer, who previously served as president of the Walmart U.S. East business unit. Walmart also named Rollin Ford chief administrative officer with responsibility for information systems, global sourcing, global business processes, global shared services and global customer insights. Ford was most recently chief information officer; Karenann Terrell replaced Ford as CIO. Gisel Ruis was named EVP and COO of Walmart U.S., responsible for U.S. operations, including supercenters, Neighborhood Markets and Walmart Express.
Walgreens has named 25-year veteran Robyn Peters group VP managed market sales, where she will lead all sales and account management activities in the company’s employer, health systems, health plans, government and small and individual payer segments, along with client retention, expansion programs and sales operations for Walgreens.
Supervalu named Michael Moore EVP and chief marketing officer. Moore will lead all of the company’s marketing activities, including overseeing customer and brand strategy, advertising, customer loyalty, and research and analytics.
CVS Caremark has named Larry Burton SVP government affairs. He joins the company from Business Roundtable in Washington, D.C., where, as executive director, he was responsible for developing policy positions and strategies.
Kinney has named Jennifer Whalen director of marketing and Steve Harris inventory and replenishment manager. Whalen will be responsible for Kinney’s marketing strategies, while Harris will implement supply chain software and develop an advanced replenishment and inventory-control structure.
As part of a move to integrate its beauty care products business, Kao has named John Nosek president of Kao USA, the newly restructured beauty care company that merges Kao’s U.S. prestige, mass and salon businesses.
Todd Mitchell, who has worked at Crossmark for more than 12 years, now will serve as president of the company’s U.S. sales agency. Ben Fischer, who served as COO and president of Crossmark’s U.S. sales agency now will solely focus on his COO duties, the company said.
Safeway named 25-year veteran Lori Raya president of its Vons division. Previously, Raya was SVP main meal, with responsibility for the company’s largest portfolio of center-store business units, including ingredients, beverages and snacks.
