P&G begins search for a new Mr. Clean

9/7/2016

CINCINNATI -- Procter & Gamble is launching an open casting call and fun digital campaign to find #TheNextMrClean.

The next Mr. Clean will win $20,000, a year’s supply of Magic Erasers and an all-expenses paid trip to New York City, where he or she will be featured in a 2017 limited edition Mr. Clean calendar.

“Mr. Clean has been flexing his muscles against millions of household messes since 1959, tackling dirt, grease and grime. And, he just appeared in his all-new jingle TV spot that debuted in July,” said Kevin Wenzel, associate brand director, NA Surface Care, P&G. “As you can imagine, Mr. Clean is in need of some serious R&R, so he’s launching an open casting call to find someone who can be just as clean, fearless, helpful and tough on dirt. So we’re reaching out to the public to help us fill Mr. Clean’s white shoes.”

There are several ways people can audition to be #TheNextMrClean. There will be two in-person open casting calls: one in New York on Sept. 7 from 2 p.m.-6 p.m., and one in Los Angeles on Sept. 14 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Hopefuls can also enter a video of themselves online at TheNextMrClean.com explaining why he or she should be the next Mr. Clean. The winner – male or female – will be chosen based on their overall creativity, usage of the Mr. Clean jingle in lyric or song, likeness in look and tone to Mr. Clean (regardless of gender), and enthusiasm of the submission.
