RediClinic announces availability of FluMist

HOUSTON RediClinic has announced the availability of FluMist, a needle-free alternative to the seasonal flu shot, at its retail-based clinics.

The mist is delivered to each nostril, one of the places where the flu virus enters the body. It can be taken by healthy people, meaning those who do not have an underlying medical condition that predisposes them to influenza complications, aged 2 to 49, who are not pregnant or nursing.

While FluMist is protective against the seasonal flu virus, it does not protect against the H1N1 virus, RediClinic stated.
