Sconza Candy Co. is introducing 70% cacao to its chocolate premium packaged line. The 70% cacao items, dark chocolate expresso beans and dark chocolate toffee items, are packaged in 5-ounce stand-up metallized bags.
“We wanted to take advantage of the dark chocolate trend by creating unique dark chocolate fruit and nut pairings,” said Greg Cater, vice president of sales and marketing for the company.
Packaged 12 per case, the items retail for $4.99 each.
Fassin America is encouraging children to play with their candy with the debut of its Fascini brand CrEATables chewy candy laces. The flexible, fruit-flavored candy strings can be twisted, tied and braided into jewelery and lanyards, then eaten.
The candy is available in 1.4-ounce assorted flavor and strawberry bags that retail for 79 cents, along with 4-ounce bags featuring all four flavors—apple, tutti frutti, blue raspberry and strawberry—that retail for $1.19.
Fassin also is debuting Fascini Sour SNAGX, bite-size candy belts featuring four flavors that will be available in 1.75- and 4-ounce bags.
Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels in July introduced its chocolate crumb pretzel frozen four-pack. The sweet soft pretzel is baked with real cocoa, stuffed with creamy fudge, drizzled with dark chocolate and topped with chocolate crumb.
The launch marks Kim & Scott’s sixth product to be available in grocers’ freezers nationwide. The 4-ounce pretzels are sold in packages of four and also will be available online at www.kimandscotts.com.
