Reports: Rite Aid donates to 'play place' for autistic children

NEW YORK — Rite Aid's philanthropic arm has donated $10,000 to benefit children with autism, according to published reports.

The Macomb County, Mich., Daily reported that the Rite Aid Foundation had made the donation to Sterling Heights, Mich., for use in creating a "Play Place for Autistic Children."

The play place will include a laser light lounge, swing central and 4D theater and will be 18,000 sq. ft., designed to provide sensory experiences that range from heavily stimulating to minimal, depending on children's needs, the newspaper reported, noting that Rite Aid operates 30 stores in the county and another 250 throughout Michigan.
