Rite Aid to deploy 3-D end-cap kiosks across New York, Los Angeles markets

1/5/2015

CHATSWORTH, Calif. — Rite Aid stores in New York and Los Angeles will be featuring futuristic end-caps in partnership with Provision Interactive Technologies, a subsidiary of Provision Holding, in 2015. The companies in December outlined plans for the initial rollout of Provision’s 3-D Savings Center kiosks in 200 Rite Aid retail locations in the New York and Los Angeles markets beginning in early 2015.

The kiosks generate eye-popping, 3-D holographic videos and will include exclusive wellness+ information and Rite Aid promotions.

“We are very excited about the commencement of our production rollout,” said Curt Thornton, president and CEO of Provision. “Rite Aid customers will enjoy an engaging 3-D holographic experience and be immediately rewarded with coupons, promotions and other giveaways for both in-store products. They can also access information on local healthcare providers who are advertising their services through our kiosks.”

Under the agreement, this initial phase will include the integration of Rite Aid’s wellness+customer loyalty program, allowing wellness+ members to access their account details and load digital coupons to their cards for instant savings while in these select Rite Aid stores. Additional Rite Aid stores are expected to receive Savings Centers throughout 2015.

The 3-D Savings Center kiosk contains Provision’s 3-D holographic display, which has been proven to generate a great deal of attention from retail customers. Each unit also has a 2-D interactive touch screen that provides consumers access to wellness+information, as well as Rite Aid promotions, rewards and coupons. Brand marketers will be able to showcase their products via 3-D advertising and engage viewers via the interactive touchscreen interface.

The kiosks also are able to print coupon offers, allowing Rite Aid and other advertisers to offer customers highly effective sales influencers at the point of purchase. The 3-D holographic display projects videos in front of the screen without the need for any special glasses.
