AUSTIN, Texas Whole Foods Market on Tuesday named for new board members, including Jonathan Sokoloff, managing partner of Leonard Green & Partners, who also serves on the board of directors for Rite Aid.

In addition to Sokoloff, Whole Foods appointed Stephanie Kugelman, vice chairman emeritus of Young & Rubicam and chairman of A Second Opinion strategic consulting group; Kip Tindell, chairman and chief executive officer of The Container Store; and Jonathan Seiffer, also a partner at Leonard Green & Partners.

Sokoloff and Seiffer joined the board in connection with LGP's recent preferred stock investment in Whole Foods Market.

"These four talented leaders bring unique wisdom and complement the experience of our current board members," stated John Mackey, chairman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Whole Foods Market. "In this challenging economic environment, we feel fortunate to have this fresh addition of intellectual capital."
