Rite Aid eliminates 44 headquarters positions

7/17/2008

CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid on Thursday eliminated 44 headquarters jobs, representing less than 3 percent of the corporate workforce, as the company nears the completion of its Brooks/Eckerd store integration phase.

The layoffs were not a result of the softening economy, Cheryl Slavinski, Rite Aid director of public relations, told Drug Store News. The company is still on track with its capital investment program, she said, “[these layoffs] are solely because our Brooks/Eckerd integration is nearly complete.”
