Rite Aid Foundation donates relief funds to American Red Cross

CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid announced that its charitable arm, the Rite Aid Foundation, has made a $25,000 donation to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to help the victims, families and communities affected by Hurricane Isaac.

Rite Aid noted that nearly all Rite Aid pharmacies affected by the storm in Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi are open and serving the prescription and merchandise needs of the local residents. Rite Aid also said it has increased staffing in stores throughout the region to assist local residents. The company is working closely with local authorities to reopen any of its locations closed due to power outages.

"As people and communities start to rebuild in the wake of Hurricane Isaac, it’s important that they know they aren't alone," said Ken Martindale, Rite Aid COO and president of The Rite Aid Foundation. "One of Rite Aid's core values is to be a caring neighbor in the communities we serve and we are proud to partner with the American Red Cross to help those most affected by Hurricane Isaac."
