Rite Aid ramps up electronics, dorm furniture selection for back to school season

CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid stores are hoping to attract more back-to-school shoppers with a new assortment of supplies, including affordable electronics and dorm room furniture.


“We know that students and parents are looking for a stress-free and seamless transition as summer winds down and the new school year starts,” said Tony Montini, Rite Aid EVP merchandising. “With our 4,600 convenient locations, large assortment of products and great prices, our customers will find everything they need to succeed and stand out this school year.”


Rite Aid is offering Craig electronics at affordable prices this year, such as 9-in. tablets and netbooks with the latest Android 4.4 Quad Core Processor operating system, a 19-in. LED TV and a Bluetooth enabled speaker system. For students who are on-the-go, Rite Aid will also have such cellphone accessories as cellphone cables, wall and car chargers, batteries and computer essentials, including Memorex USB drives, HP printer ink cartridges and wireless mouse.


Rite Aid’s private brand Home gives students the opportunity to choose from a wide selection of pens, pencils, highlighters, multicolored notebooks, composition books, index cards, rulers and arts and crafts supplies. Similar products also will be available from such brands as Sharpie, Bic and Five-Star. 


And for college students, Rite Aid's Home brand will feature a wide variety of easy to assemble furniture, such as desks, entertainment centers, work stations and storage organizers. Rite Aid also will carry blankets, comforters in an array of colors and patterns, clothes hangers, laundry baskets and an assortment of Rubbermaid storage totes and drawer organizers to round out any dorm room needs.


Select back-to-school products this year give shoppers the opportunity to earn Plenti points through Rite Aid’s wellness+ with Plenti program. Once enrolled, members of wellness+ with Plenti will earn Plenti points on featured items they buy. These points can be used for at least two years for savings at Rite Aid and certain Plenti partners, including Exxon, Macy's and Mobil.
