Rite Aid reports decrease in same-store monthly sales
CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid overall sales were relatively flat for October, the chain reported Thursday. For the four weeks ended Oct. 24, Rite Aid posted a same-store sales decrease of 0.5%, representing a 2.7% decline in front-end comparable sales and a 0.5% increase in pharmacy sales.
Prescriptions filled at comparable stores increased 1.8% over the prior-year period.
Total drug store sales for the four-week period decreased 1.7% to $2 billion. Prescription revenue accounted for 69% of drug store sales, and third party prescription revenue represented 96.2% of pharmacy sales.
