Rite Aid reports drop in same-store sales for November

CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid on Thursday posted a 0.5% decline in same-store sales for the five weeks ended Nov. 28. Front-end same-store sales were down 2.5%, while pharmacy same-store sales were up slightly by 0.4%. Prescriptions filled at comparable stores increased 1.5% over the prior-year period.

Sales totaled $6.3 billion for the period, representing a decrease of 1.8%. Prescription revenue accounted for 68.6% of sales, and third-party prescription revenue represented 96.2% of pharmacy sales.
