Rite Aid's American Pharmacist Month contest includes techs, Wellness Ambassadors

10/1/2012

CAMP HILL, Pa. — Customers who nominate their favorite members of a pharmacy team at local Rite Aid stores will have a chance to win $2,500 in gift cards, the retail pharmacy chain said Monday.

Rite Aid announced the ninth annual contest, in which customers can nominate pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, cashiers and Wellness Ambassadors. The contest, which runs through Oct. 31, is in recognition of American Pharmacists Month in October. Customers who fill out a mail-in nomination form will be entered into a random drawing to win the prize.

"Our loyal customers choose Rite Aid as their trusted pharmacy because of the personal service they receive when they walk in our doors," Rite Aid SVP pharmacy operations Dan Miller said. "As any of our pharmacists can tell you, it takes the efforts of the entire pharmacy to care for our customers. By expanding this contest, we're able to recognize all of the pharmacy team members who help us make it personal at Rite Aid all year long."

The American Pharmacists Association also marked American Pharmacists Month by encouraging the public to discuss their medicates with pharmacists and get to know them while learning about education, prevention and wellness services they offer, including medication therapy management, under the theme of "Know Your Pharmacist, Know Your Medicine."
