Rite Aid's Health Dialog disease management programs accredited by National Committee for Quality Assurance

12/16/2014

BOSTON — Health Dialog on Monday announced that it has received Patient Oriented Accreditation from the National Committee for Quality Assurance for its disease management programs for asthma, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, coronary heart disease and diabetes. The accreditation further substantiates Rite Aid's Health Alliance initiative.

This marks the 12th continuous year of accreditation from NCQA for the Rite Aid subsidiary’s Disease Management Programs.

“NCQA accreditation is a strong symbol of quality,” said Web Golinkin, Health Dialog CEO. “Twelve consecutive years of accreditation is powerful evidence of Health Dialog’s relentless focus on quality and ongoing commitment to empowering patients to better manage their chronic and high-risk conditions, underscoring the value our disease management programs continue to deliver.”

“NCQA's Disease Management Accreditation program is thorough and rigorous. It's designed to highlight only those programs that truly improve chronic care," said NCQA president Margaret O'Kane.

NCQA awards its highest status of Accreditation to organizations that meet or exceed its rigorous standards and guidelines. The evaluation process is intended to help organizations achieve the highest possible level of performance, increase adherence to care guidelines and create an environment of continuous improvement. NCQA’s standardized performance measures address dimensions of patient care for each DM program and are organized into seven categories: Evidence-Based Programs, Patient Service, Practitioner Service, Care Coordination, Measurement and Quality Improvement, Program Operation and Reporting DM Performance. Health Dialog’s accreditation extends from Nov. 19, 2014 to Nov. 19, 2017.
