Safeway to offer 10% grocery discount to flu shot patients
PLEASANTON, Calif. — Safeway on Thursday announced the availability of flu shots on a walk-in basis at all Safeway pharmacy locations.
"Safeway pharmacists are committed to caring for their patients' health in myriad ways, ranging from immunizations and medication management to counseling patients on health and wellness," stated Darren Singer, SVP pharmacy, health and wellness at Safeway. "Safeway strives to be a one-stop shop for our customers, particularly those who are mindful of their health and who want to take the necessary steps in their lives to stay healthy, such as getting immunized every flu season."
Each individual receiving a flu shot at a Safeway pharmacy will receive a 10% off coupon that can be used toward their next grocery purchase.
This year, the flu vaccine contains a different strain of the flu virus from the previous two years. The 2012 flu shot will protect against the H1N1 (California), H3N2 (Victoria) and Influenza B (Wisconsin) viruses.
