BENTONVILLE, Ark. - Sam's Club CEO Rosalind Brewer discusses learnings from her first job in a brief video posted to the company's YouTube channel Wednesday.
Brewer got her start in retail at a men's boutique in downtown Detroit, she said. "That job taught me a lot," she shared. "It taught me about discipline, about being punctual [and] integrity."
Brewer joined Walmart in 2006 as regional VP, overseeing operations in Georgia. She later became division president of the Southeast, and then president of Walmart East.
Throughout her career, Brewer has served as a high-impact strategist with experience spanning global manufacturing operations, research and development, marketing and strategic business unit leadership. Before joining Walmart, she worked for Kimberly-Clark for 22 years, starting as a scientist and eventually becoming president of the Global Nonwovens Sector in 2004.
