5/5/2017

ST. LOUIS — Schnucks Markets has tapped an Anheuser-Busch veteran to lead its operations, merchandising and communications. The chain’s CEO and chairman Todd Schnuck named David Peacock, a former Anheuser-Busch president to be its president and COO on Thursday. Peacock has been a director of the company since 2013.

“Dave’s entrepreneurial spirit, vision and drive, along with his extensive business background will help us set a strong course for the future,” Schnuck said. “His counsel and leadership on our company’s Advisory Board have been instrumental in positioning Schnucks for growth. Further, his commitment to St. Louis and the region is aligned with Schnucks’ commitment to superior customer experience and community support. Dave also has strong values and a leadership style that will fit well within the Schnucks’ culture.”

In his new role, Peacock will oversee the company’s procurement and merchandising, operations, marketing and communication and supply chain for its 100 stores across five states. He previously managed U.S. operations for Anheuser-Busch from 2008 through early 2012, and oversaw its integration with InBev in the United Sates, as well as led Anheuser-Busch’s negotiating team during the InBev merger, which was the largest all-cash transaction in history at the time it took place.

“This is a tremendous company and opportunity. Our teammates are focused on serving customers, delivering quality products and making Schnucks the best grocery shopping experience in the region,” Peacock said. “I am excited to work with Todd and his management team more directly on continuous improvement and innovation that will assure industry leadership, customer service and community support for the long term.”

Before joining Anheuser-Busch in 1992, Peacock served in various management, finance and marketing roles, working at the company over various periods in financial planning, mergers and acquisitions, IT, procurement and other areas. He was named its VP marketing in 2007, overseeing a revamp of its marketing approach.

He also is active in the St. Louis community, serving on the boards of various charitable and civic organizations. He is chairman of the St. Louis Sports Commission and is a trustee of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. His company Vitaligent owns 78 Jamba Juices in Northern California and Missouri.

Having served as a member of Schnucks’ advisory board since July 2013, he has said he will give up that role in his new position.
