Shopko appoints Jones president and chief merchandising officer

GREEN BAY, Wis. W. Paul Jones has been appointed as president and chief merchandising officer of Shopko. He will be responsible for the direction of all merchandising and marketing activities of the regional mass retailer.

Jones will be replacing Paul White, who has held the position for almost two years. The company noted Jones' considerable experience in merchandising, private brand development and planning. He has worked in retail for over 20 years, including leadership positions at Kohl's and—most recently—Sears.

“Paul is exceptionally well-qualified to take over this important role in our company,” said Michael MacDonald, Shopko chairman and chief executive officer. “Beyond his impressive credentials, Paul is a thoughtful and passionate student of the retail industry and our business specifically.”

Jones’ appointment will be effective on Nov. 14.
