Shopko institutes strategic reorganization
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Shopko on Wednesday instituted a strategic reorganization to "create a flatter, leaner organization," the Green Bay Press Gazette reported Wednesday.
As a result, the company let go of 40 positions at its corporate office in Ashwaubenon, the paper reported.
"We took every effort to place individuals whose jobs were eliminated, but based on the reorganization, the employment of 40 individuals was terminated," Shopko released in a statement.
Shopko operates 321 stores in 21 states, include 133 Shopko, 177 Shopko Hometown, six Shopko Pharmacy and five Shopko Express brands. It has nearly 17,000 employees.
