Shoppers Drug Mart celebrates 15 years of Growing Women's Health campaign

9/12/2016

TORONTO – In an effort to support women's health organizations across the country, Shoppers Drug Mart and its associate-owners on Saturday kicked off the 15th annual SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. Growing Women's Health campaign.

Over the next four weeks, local Shoppers Drug Mart locations will accept donations from customers with a goal to raise $3.3 million to help fund local women's health charities.

"The Growing Women's Health campaign has been so successful because our patients, customers and employees know that the money they donate goes directly to an organization that supports women's health in their own community," stated Lisa Gibbs, director, community investment, Shoppers Drug Mart.  "Over the past 14 years, we've donated close to $30 million, thanks to everyone's generosity."

Back by popular demand, Shoppers Drug Mart will complement the in-store program with an online Growing Women's Health game, where customers can direct corporately-donated funds to the charity of their choice.  Customers are encouraged to visit www.shoppersloveyou.ca and direct a portion of Shoppers Drug Mart's $50,000 to their local charity for a chance to win Shoppers Optimum points just for participating.

Additionally, in store customers can purchase and personalize a "Growing Women's Health" icon; a "leaf" for a loonie, a "butterfly" for $5, an "apple" for $10 and a "bird" for $50.  The icons are prominently displayed on the Growing Women's Health Tree in all participating stores.
