BOSTON — Drug Store News editors scoured the show floor at NACDS Total Store Expo for the hottest, most innovative products. Below, DSN presents our Hot Product Picks in the beauty category.
Sinful Colors
SinfulColors is one of the more popular mass-market polish brands, according to Consumer Reports. The lacquers are long-lasting, chip-resistant and come in a range of on-trend colors. The brand’s newest, highly curated collections with Kylie Jenner — many of which go viral online and sell out — will be on shelves for a limited-time only. The King Kylie Collection offers a 20-shade repertoire of matte and metallic shades, including a “velvety demi-matte” finish and a “pure satin matte” finish. All SinfulColors formulas are formaldehyde-, toluene- and DBP-free with a suggested retail price of $2.99.
Lornamead
The Instrumental Beauty Sonic Touch Cleansing System provides a new way to instantly refresh and brighten skin. The secret is the distinctive, micro-pulsating action combined with stimulating silicone cleansing points. The product can be used with any facial cleanser to clean pores deeply and shake impurities loose from skin. At five inches long, this petite facial cleansing brush fits easily in a makeup bag or purse. No brush replacement is required. It’s ergonomically designed, has an easy-to-hold handle, is waterproof and comes with one USB compatible charging cord and a one-year warranty. The suggested retail price is $39.99.
Beard Guyz
With the increase of U.S. men growing — and keeping —longer beards, Universal Beauty Products launched the Beard Guyz brand of men’s products last year, and consumer response to the complete regimen for beard care has been glowing, according to the company. The lineup includes Daily Wash 35, Deep Conditioner 25, Balm for Course Hair, Balm for Fine to Medium Hair and Beard Oil 25. The numbers refer to the total number of ingredients in each formula, and all ingredients are high-quality, natural and organic, according to the company. All products are priced at $14.99. The company said it plans to add a fragrance this year.
OraLabs
The category-breakthrough Waterless by Gillette Venus shaving system requires no water to use, making it a truly portable product that allows on-demand use when and where it’s needed. The all-in-one design features a soft handle filled with a lubricating gel that the user squeezes through the application sponge. The lubricating gel, which contains aloe, was developed to provide a smooth and waterless shave without the need to rinse, and leaves no residue or stickiness, according to the company. It’s available in packs of one or two razors with a variety of merchandising and display vehicles shipping this month. The suggested retail price is $2.99.
Paris Presents
Paris Presents brought new brush cleansers and applicators to NACDS TSE this year. Real Techniques by Sam + Nic’s Brush Cleansing Gel has an exclusive formula designed to extend the life of brushes by removing makeup and oils. Designed for deep cleaning with the same cleansing power of a concentrate, the formula effectively removes nearly all makeup residue. The suggested retail price is $9. The Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette helps sweep away impurities from bristles to offer a truer, more consistent color application, and has a suggested retail price of $15. The Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge is a 3-in-1 multi-functional makeup sponge. The rounded side blends larger areas of the face, while the precision tip covers blemishes and imperfections, and the flat edge contours around the eyes and the nose. The suggested retail price is $7.95.
