Supervalu to close Michigan plant, cut jobs in Ohio
LIVONIA, Mich. The pending closure of Supervalu’s Advantage Logistics plant in Livonia, Michigan will result it the loss of 366 jobs, according to filings with the Michigan state labor department. The closing appears to be linked to a January decision by Kroger to end a supply agreement.
Supervalu also plans to cut 143 jobs at its distribution center in Xenia, Ohio beginning in May. Filings with the state indicate the staff reductions will be focused on human resources and administrative positions and are due to begin May 1 and run through June 14.
