9/5/2012

WASHINGTON — The Council for Responsible Nutrition on Wednesday announced that registered dietitian and health expert Samantha Heller will serve as this year’s featured speaker in the association's "Breakfast with..." session at The Conference, CRN's annual symposium for the dietary supplement industry.

"Samantha Heller is a respected expert in the nutrition field which is why she is so highly sought out in the media to serve as an expert on nutrition issues," CRN SVP communications Judy Blatman said. "We're looking forward to her insights on the evolving world of journalism and how that affects industry."

In addition to her work as a practicing registered dietitian, Heller is also an author, consultant and media expert who regularly appears on TV news shows such as the "Today Show," "Good Morning America" and "Doctor Oz" and is frequently quoted in newspapers and magazines. She currently serves as the clinical nutrition coordinator at the Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital in Derby, Conn. and hosts a two-hour live health program on SiriusXM radio.

She will discuss media trends in relation to the health industry and share her thoughts on the role of supplements in a person’s overall health and wellness.

The Conference takes place Oct. 3 to 6 at the Montage Laguna Beach in Laguna Beach, Calif.
