Target launches first-ever beauty line with nail polish

MINNEAPOLIS -- Target is looking to woo beauty customers who want a stellar selection of colors with a sweet price tag.

The company has launched the first collection from its first-ever beauty line: defy & INSPIRE, a new nail care line available exclusively at the retailer. According to Target, the name is born from the idea that you can "defy the ordinary" and "inspire others" through your personal style.

“Our guests love coming to Target because we make it easy and affordable for them to update their look, whether that’s a new throw pillow, skirt or fresh new nail color,” said Dawn Block, senior vice president, Target.com, mobile and beauty merchandising, Target. “defy & INSPIRE is the most recent addition to Target’s roster of exclusive brands, offering our guests access to the latest beauty technology and affording them the ability to achieve salon-quality results in the convenience of their own home.”

At $7.49 a bottle, defy & INSPIRE features 38 shades all featuring tongue-in-cheek pop culture-inspired names, such as “Rose Ceremony” and “Real Housewife,” as well as a base and top coat.

In addition, the line boasts a patented formula that promises a no-chip mani/pedi without the hassle of lights or other tools (Read: You can take the polish off anywhere using any traditional nail polish remover, the retailer says).
