Target to open second CityTarget format in San Francisco in 2013
SAN FRANCISCO — Target has announced plans to open its second CityTarget store in San Francisco in October 2013. The company's first CityTarget in San Francisco opened nearly a week ago on Oct. 10.
The San Francisco West CityTarget will be 119,000 sq. ft. and located at the southwest corner of Geary and Masonic Streets.
“We are thrilled to call San Francisco home to our newest CityTarget at Geary and Masonic,” said Cary Strouse, Target’s SVP stores in the western region. “With more than five CityTarget locations confirmed, California has always been a strong market for Target. We are excited to continue being a good neighbor and developing long-lasting relationships with guests at both San Francisco Target stores.”
Similar to larger-format Targets, the CityTarget store will offer living essentials, on-trend fashions and exclusive designer collections. The store also will include a Starbucks and a pharmacy.
With five locations confirmed, the state of California has more CityTargets than any other state in the nation. Chicago, Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Westwood, Calif. locations were opened earlier this year. In addition to the San Francisco West CityTarget, the company has announced 2013 openings in Portland and Los Angeles.
