SAN FRANCISCO — Crystal Geyser Water Co.’s Tejava Premium Iced Tea is now available for purchase in more than 7,000 CVS/pharmacy stores across the country, and more than 320 Target stores in California and Arizona. Tejava is a 100% all natural, microbrewed, ready-to-drink iced black tea made entirely from handpicked tea leaves from the island of Java.
In April, Tejava announced a new package design for its bottles. The new, proprietary, 18-oz. PET bottle incorporates a hand-sculpted, tea leaf motif with three-dimensional qualities, giving the impression that the bottle is wrapped in tea leaves. Target will stock both the 1 liter and 12-oz. glass packages. CVS will stock the new PET 18-oz. bottle.
Tejava has earned recognition for three consecutive years — 2011, 2012 and 2013 — as the North American Tea Champion in the Unflavored/ Unsweetened Black Iced Tea category. According to AC Nielsen, nationally, the unsweetened iced tea category is showing more than 16% growth in dollar sales versus last year for the 52 week period ending April 20, 2013, demonstrating that unsweetened teas are gaining popularity in the United States.
“With our newly expanded distribution to two large, very well-known stores, we are pleased to offer our truly unique beverage to a much larger audience,” said Doug MacLean, CEO of Crystal Geyser Water Company, which manufactures Tejava. “We thank our new partners and look forward to a continuous steady stream of growth through both distribution and retail consumption, and we’re excited that others can now experience and enjoy our simply pure brewed tea.”
