10/22/2007

LOS ANGELES Tesco has identified the six Southern California cities where it will open its first U.S. stores on Nov. 8. The British grocer will open Fresh & Easy stores in Anaheim, West Covina, Hemet, Upland, Arcadia and the Glassell Park section of Los Angeles.

The stores will employ more than 170 people with 40 percent of those full-time workers.

Tesco plans to open up to 30 of the 10,000-square-foot markets by the end of the year including stores in Las Vegas, Phoenix and San Diego. Long-term plans call for up to 350 openings over the next four years.
