Value Drug taps Avella as its specialty Rx service provider

PHOENIX — Avella Specialty Pharmacy recently announced that it is now the specialty pharmacy service provider for wholesale pharmaceutical and health product distributor Value Drug Co. and its member independent pharmacies. 

 

Value Drug’s member pharmacies will now have specialty services managed by Avella, including prior authorization support, financial assistance, compliance calls and clinical onboarding. Avella will also manage the company’s specialty prescription fulfillment that Value Drug’s specialty pharmacy doesn’t offer or aren’t accessible to Value Drug patients. 

 

“This partnership gives Avella the opportunity to add specialty services to a retail partner’s existing pharmacy, allowing them to participate in the growing specialty market,” Nancy McCutcheon, SVP strategic sales at Avella Specialty Pharmacy, said.
