Wal-Mart offers new program for people with hearing loss

10/10/2007

BENTONVILLE, Ark. Wal-Mart is letting customers open their ears with a new program for people suffering from hearing loss.

Hear at Last, an affordable option for many with substantial hearing loss, allows customers to conveniently get tested and fitted for a digital hearing aid in a hour’s time.

The concept, developed by Robert J. Oswald and Dr. Randy Lacey, one of the founding fathers of LensCrafters, will be made available to  Wal-Mart customers across the country. A total of 15 Wal-Mart stores, including two Sam’s Clubs, will open this month through January. In Canada, there are currently seven locations in Ontario, and three more will open this week, according to a company spokesperson.
