Walgreens promotes support of The Jimmy Fund during Boston Red Sox radio broadcast

8/28/2013

BOSTON — Walgreens district manager Tyler Hough spent the fifth inning with WEEI radio broadcasters Dave O'Brien and Joe Castiglione, who were providing the play-by-play for the Boston Red Sox game vs. the Baltimore Orioles Tuesday evening, to talk about Walgreens' promotion in support of The Jimmy Fund.

Walgreens' Boston-area stores raised $80,000 in support of The Jimmy Fund in 2012. For this season, Walgreens is donating $100 for every hit a Sox player caroms off of Fenway Park's Green Monster. "The quicker the Sox players can hit it off the Green Monster, we're willing to open up the wallet and give whatever we can," Hough told the broadcasters.

The broadcasters also spoke a moment on the new Walgreens flagship store in downtown Boston, raving over the frozen yogurt selections, and discussed Hough's tenure of 25 years with the retailer, where he started as a cashier.
