Walgreens protected with Ionit's video recording security system

6/4/2008

NEW YORK Walgreens has finished installing Ionit Technologies’ digital video recording security system at its stores, Ionit announced Tuesday.

The system uses DVR technology similar to that used by television viewers to record shows at home, but with Ionit’s advanced algorithms, which allow for recording much larger amounts of footage by compressing data up to 2,000 times and allow the installation of more cameras. The DVR devices can interface with digital and analog security cameras. Ionit designed custom software for use in Walgreens’ 6,252 stores across the country.

Based in Northbrook, Ill., Ionit manufacturers DVR systems for security, surveillance and safety and control purposes.
