Walmart to open supercenter in Denton, Md.
DENTON, Md. — Walmart announced that it is breaking ground on a new supercenter in Maryland in September.
The company said that the 152,888-sq.-ft. supercenter, which will be located in Denton, Md., will offer customers broad product selections, including fresh quality food and everyday general needs, at value pricing. Additionally, the supercenter is expected to create at least 250 jobs.
"Walmart is excited to begin the construction of this supercenter site in an effort to bring greater development to Caroline County and offer quality jobs with good benefits and a variety of goods at our everyday low prices to those in the community," said Mary Wilson, Maryland market manager at Walmart. "We look forward to partnering with elected officials, community leaders and surrounding businesses to help address the needs of the local community."
Walmart currently operates 35 stores and 12 Sam's Clubs in the state of Maryland.
