Weis Markets acquires second location from C&S Wholesale Grocers

SUNBURY, Pa. –  Weis Markets earlier this week announced plans to purchase the location and assets of Nell’s Family Market of East Berlin in East Berlin, Pa. from C&S Wholesale Grocers. This purchase will be completed at the end of October and an early November reopening is planned.



“This is a great store, with an excellent reputation for customer service. This purchase will allow us to increase our market presence in Adams County,” stated Kurt Schertle, COO Weis Markets. This store and pharmacy will remain open in the weeks prior to the finalization of the purchase in late October.



This is Weis Markets’ second acquisition of a Nell’s location. Last year, the company purchased and converted a Nell’s Family Market in Hanover and reopened the store on Sept. 15, 2015. Weis Markets subsequently remodeled that store in 2016.
