SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. — Collegiate Licensing Company, LLC, an affiliate of IMG College, and the Yankee Candle Company Inc., today announced the launch of a new co-branded collegiate-themed candle line. The Fan Candle Collegiate Collection, which debuted July 8, features 23 CLC institutions including Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Four additional schools are also included in the collection through separate licensing agreements: Ohio State, Michigan State, UMass Amherst (available fall 2013), and William & Mary (available fall 2013).

“Our fans are as enthusiastic about showing their school pride as their love for Yankee Candle,” said Hope Margala Klein, executive vice president, brand, innovation and merchandising for the Yankee Candle Company Inc. “By offering the Fan Candle Collegiate Collection, we can now offer the best of both worlds for our biggest fans!”

All schools in the collegiate-themed Fan Candle collection are available at yankeecandle.com and the company’s flagship stores. The candles will also be sold in select Yankee Candle, Bed Bath and Beyond and Cracker Barrel retail locations, as well as other regional department stores and specialty retailers. Each candle features the logo and school color plus authentic, long-lasting Yankee Candle fragrance and is available in a large jar candle ($27.99 MSRP) or Car Jar Air Freshener ($2.99 MSRP). These candles are ideal for the real sports fan and make the perfect gift for fellow alumni and other team fans.

“We are excited to partner with Yankee Candle to offer a new collegiate candle line to millions of passionate college fans across the country,” said Missy Ingram, director of non-apparel management for Collegiate Licensing Company. “The timing of the launch of candles in school colors fits perfectly with College Colors Day on August 30 — an exciting annual celebration dedicated to promoting the traditions and spirit that embody the college experience.”
