Zieziula named president, managing director of EMD Serono

ROCKLAND, Mass. — EMD Sorono announced Wednesday that it had named Gary Zieziula the new president and managing director. Zieziula will be responsible for overseeing the entire specialty care company, including its strategic direction and growth. EMD Serono is the North American biopharma wing of Germany’s Merck KGaA

 

Ziezula has been with EMD Serono since 2014, when he joined as the chief commercial officer, and has more than 30 years of industry experience, including senior positions at Birstol-Myers Squibb, Roche and AMAG Pharmaceuticals. 

 

"As we look to grow our biopharma business in North America, including our progress in oncology and immuno-oncology, Gary's vision, experience and customer-centric approach are critical to lead the company forward," Merck KGaA COO Simon Sturge said.
