Advil Congestion Relief Project relieves community congestion at site No. 2

4/20/2012

MADISON, N.J. — As part of a nationwide effort to help communities fight congestion, Pfizer Consumer Healthcare is partnering with the Ohio Association of Police Athletic & Activities League to create more space for the local mentorship program.

The Dayton, Ohio-based mentorship program faces literal congestion, because the facility currently only accommodates 23 students. The expanded room will help 50 additional at-risk area youth get off the waiting list and receive the support they need to stay engaged and motivated after the school day ends.

This season, Advil Congestion Relief has made its tagline, “The Right Relief for the Real Problem,” a reality by bringing relief to places through The Advil Congestion Relief Project. The Ohio PAL was selected as one of three winners in the Advil Congestion Relief Project Contest. Through the contest, consumers were asked to share congestion problems in their communities for the chance to win a prize worth up to $30,000 for their community.

In addition to Dayton, the Advil Congestion Relief Project visited Albany, N.Y., last week to unveil a refurbished trolley to be used to safely shuttle area youth to and from afterschool activities. In St. Louis, Advil Congestion Relief is helping not-for-profit organization Kingdom House alleviate congestion in its offices by building an outdoor storage facility to clear up much needed space inside, which will create additional meeting areas and allow visitors more privacy.
