CDC: ILI activity continues to pick up

ATLANTA — Influenza activity is becoming more prevalent the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday, tracking influenza-like activity for the week ended Jan. 3. 


 


For the week, 26 states reported high activity. New York City and eight states — California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey,


South Dakota and Wyoming — experienced moderate ILI activity while seven states (Arizona, Georgia, Massachusetts, New York, North Dakota, Vermont and Washington) experienced low ILI activity.


 


Nationwide 5.6% of patient visits reported through the U.S. Outpatient Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network were due to influenza-like illness. This percentage is above the national baseline of 2%.
