H1N1 vaccines may be available by Sept. 30
WASHINGTON States may begin ordering H1N1 influenza inoculations as early as mid-week next week, according to a report published Friday online by USAToday.
Citing officials from the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials and the Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to bring its secure ordering site online by Sept. 30.
Distribution will start with Medimmune’s FluMist nasal spray vaccine and will be followed by injectable vaccines — to the tune of some 40 million doses — soon thereafter.
