Hyland's names new president

7/21/2016

LOS ANGELES – Hyland’s on Tuesday announced that Les Hamilton has succeeded Dale Nepsa as president of Hyland’s. Nepsa retired after 25 years of growing Hyland’s sales and brand recognition in the domestic marketplace.

As president, Hamilton now has full leadership of the company’s sales division. He will ensure continued strategic alignment between Hyland's food, drug and mass merchandiser customers and the company's natural food store customers.

"Les’s demonstrated leadership and experience  in our markets  ensure that we’re helping to meet our customers’ needs and make our consumers lives better, through his established relationships and understanding of how consumers shop,” stated J.P. Borneman, CEO Hyland’s. “Les joined the Hyland’s family in 2011 as VP sales and has helped drive company growth that has over-indexed the industry. We look forward to this next phase of the company’s long history.”

Hamilton joined Hyland’s from The Emerson Group where he served as field sales manager for seven years. While with The Emerson Group, Hamilton managed accounts of all sizes, including the Target business for all of Emerson’s OTC products. Hamilton’s prior experience includes almost 10 years at Target where he held different positions including category manager for numerous pharmacy categories and all OTC private label items.

Hamilton holds leadership roles at several industry association groups, including the Consumer Healthcare Products Association, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and the Global Market Development Center, where he serves as a member of the membership advisory board.

Hamilton graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Marketing and Management.

“I have had a great four years already with Hyland’s,” Hamilton said. “I am excited to help lead this next phase of the company’s very long history in the United States. I believe there are many more opportunities and my team is ready to take on the challenge of pursuing them.”

Nepsa has been an instrumental component of Hyland’s growth during his 25-year tenure leading the sales division, the company added. Among his many accomplishments with the organization is the introduction of Hyland’s Teething Tablets into the food, drug and mass channels. He has also served as a key member of the company’s executive committee, helping guide the strategic direction of the organization.

“We cannot be more grateful for Dale’s leadership and commitment to Hyland’s during the last 25 years,” Borneman said. “His contributions will be long-lasting and have created a strong foundation upon which we can continue to grow.”
