Lice Safe introduces Licen Tool

EASTCHESTER, N.Y. Lice Safe on Wednesday introduced a new tool to help parents tackle lice infestations in their children — the Licen Tool, a curling-iron type device that eliminates lice and nits through heat in excess of 130 F.

“This Licen Tool exceeds [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] standards and incinerates the lice and nits on contact,” the company stated. “There is no nitpicking or damage of the hair or infected person.”

The new lice tool was introduced at the Tri State Camp Conference in Atlantic City.

"This method gets within 6 millimeters of the scalp and reaches temperatures in excess of 420 F, depending on model, as shown in our controlled testing," stated Joe Munoz director of ww.licecentersofamerica.org.

Lice Safe is partnering with Head Lice Heroes on educational campaigns and programs for camps, schools parents and children around the stigma associated with head lice.

"[The Licen Tool is] a truly chemical free way to eliminated lice and nits without any nit combing," stated  Mary Burr Northeast regional director for Head Lice Hero, a licensed head lice service company.
