NACDS addresses medication adherence at Senate Health Fair
WASHINGTON The National Association of Chain Drug Stores emphasized the importance of pharmacy-patient interaction at this year's Senate Health Fair, held last week in Washington, D.C.
The chain pharmacy lobby hosted an exhibit at the fair that emphasized the importance of medication adherence. More than 200 Senate staffers visited the NACDS booth over the two-day event, NACDS said. Pharmacists from NACDS members Kerr Drug Supervalu pharmacies counseled staffers on proper medication use, answered questions on health issues and provided advice on predispositions to chronic diseases.
“This is the first time NACDS has been invited to participate in the Senate Health Fair, clearly demonstrating the valuable role that pharmacy plays in the healthcare delivery system,” said NACDS president and CEO Steve Anderson. “Pharmacy is the face of neighborhood health care, and NACDS is committed to showcasing this value.”
