With OTC class on the horizon, hearing aids aren't just for old folks anymore

MOUNTAIN LAKES, N.J. — Just one week following the passing of the Over-the-Counter Hearing Aid Act by Congress, Belsono Hearing Centers and Hearing Health USA launched a new social media campaign to help reduce the stigma associated with wearing hearing aids.

"Hearing loss is often associated with growing older and therefore a hearing aid can often be viewed as a symbol of aging," the companies stated. "The hearing healthcare professionals at Belsono Hearing Centers and Hearing Health USA believe it is time to break that stigma and encourage wearers to flaunt their hearing aids."

The #flauntyourhearingaids campaign is designed to encourage an open dialogue about hearing loss and hearing aid use. The idea is to show the masses that anyone can be affected by hearing loss and that wearing hearing aids will not cramp their style. The campaign is set to run on August 1 through the end of September and will use a combination of visuals and informational articles that highlight people doing amazing things while wearing their hearing aids.
