P&G acquires This Is L feminine care products

Procter & Gamble’s portfolio is expanding.

The Cincinnati-based company — whose brands include Always, Downy, Febreze, Gillette, Olay and Pantene among others — announced that it has acquired This Is L, the owner of L. products.

L. is a provides a collection of tampons, pads, liners and wipes that are made with organic cotton.

“This acquisition is a perfect complement to our Always and Tampax portfolio, with its commitment to a shared mission to advocate for girls’ confidence and serve more women,” Jennifer Davis, the president of P&G Global Feminine Care, said. “We feel this is a strong union and together we can be a greater force for good.”

In addition, for every product sold, the brand makes a donation to improve product accessibility to girls and women in need across the United States and the world. This Is L. also works with partners that provide tools such as pad manufacturing machines, to make their products available to those who need them and also fuel women entrepreneurship, the company said.

Through these efforts, L. has made its products available for consumers in more than 5,000 stores and is on track to provide access to more than 250 million products from its donation efforts.
