Scott Emerson named Distinguished Alumni Texas State University

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Texas State University earlier in October honored Scott Emerson, founder and CEO of the Emerson Group, as part of the University's esteemed 2016 class of Distinguished Alumni.



"These graduates walk in the company of excellence and have demonstrated innovation, success and service, which help positively shape our university and our communities," the University stated.



Emerson, class of '75, graduated with a degree in business administration and went on to a successful career in the healthcare industry before founding the Emerson Group. "Scott's company, created more than 20 years ago, began as a sales management company and has grown and expanded to include Emerson Marketing, Emerson Healthcare and Emerson Consulting," the video introducing Emerson stated.



Before founding the Emerson Group, Emerson held several senior management positions within brand management, new business development, sales operations and field sales for Fortune 500 companies including Johnson & Johnson, Unilever and Novartis.
