Whole Foods, Vitamin Shoppe team to present natural products at health fair
HONOLULU Representatives from specialty retailers Whole Foods and Vitamin Shoppe are slated to showcase natural products Jan. 9 at this year’s “Celebrate Health” Community Health Fair here, the John A. Burns School of Medicine announced last week.
“The students felt strongly about hosting the fair in early January this year, because people are frequently motivated to improve their health as a New Year approaches,” stated medical student Brad Kamitaki, publicity chairman of the event. “That’s our goal—to help people start the year off healthfully.”
In addition to Whole Foods and Vitamin Shoppe, Honolulu Mayor Mufi Hannemann and Hawaii Lt. Gov. Duke Aiona have accepted invitations to speak as the health fair kicks off at 12 p.m., in the school’s Medical Education Building Lobby at 651 Ilalo Street.
The fair is co-sponsored by HMSA and ALOHA CARE.
