Wolfgram to testify to Senate on methamphetamine enforcement
ALEXANDRIA, Va. Peter Wolfgram, president and chief executive officer of Bungalow Drug, a chain of four pharmacies located in western Montana, is slated to testify on behalf of the National Association of Chain Drug Stores and chain community pharmacy before the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance on Tuesday, the association announced Monday.
The U.S. Senate Committee on Finance is hosting a Congressional hearing on “Breaking the Methamphetamine Supply Chain: Meeting Challenges at the Border” to evaluate law enforcement of methamphetamine ingredients being smuggled across the U.S. border.
Also scheduled to speak is Gary Kendell, director, Iowa Governor’s Office of Drug Control Policy. Iowa had defined both ephedrine and pseudoephedrine, over-the-counter medications that could be used in the illicit production of methamphetamine, as schedule V medications a year prior to the national mandatory placement of all PSE products behind the pharmacy counter.
